Spring Valley Academy began as a dream in the mid-1960’s. The future was uncertain for Seventh-day Adventist education in the greater Dayton area. Especially after the original Seventh-day Adventist school in this area, Dayton Junior Academy, was closed in 1968. With a void to be filled, action was needed by the community.
A group of physicians and businessmen met to focus on the future, and Spring Valley Academy was proposed. The dream became a reality, and today the school is located on nearly 50 acres in Washington Township, south of Dayton. The building and campus are acclaimed for their design and beauty, and through the years, the many sacrificial gifts of The Friends of Spring Valley Academy have enabled the facilities to be enlarged and improved.
The founders’ dream continues to grow with every graduating class. We are immensely proud of our students who go out into the world and do great things as they are guided by Christ’s compass.
