New Kindergarten Teacher Joins 2023-2024 Team
Caroline (Cara) Bussey joins the SVA Team as a Kindergarten teacher, replacing outgoing teacher Joy Leffers. While Mrs. Joy, as her students affectionately called her, will be greatly missed, her desire to be near her family in Tennessee created a vacancy that Mrs. Bussey will fill when the school year starts in August.
Mrs. Bussey has a Master’s degree in Education, and has a broad range of early childhood education experience and, according to Mrs. Bussey, “an enthusiasm for empowering and encouraging children to be who God created them to be.” She hails from Canada, having attended Burman University (formerly Canadian University College).
Mrs. Bussey and her husband Seth have two children, Abigail (4 1/2 years old) and Emmett (7 months).
“I’m thrilled to join the SVA team this year,” Mrs. Bussey said. “I will foster a loving environment for all students by making provision for their many learning styles, one that builds off the natural love children have for learning. The classroom I teach in will be a zone of learning how to love and be more like Jesus each and every day. We will have a great year!!”
SVA Elementary Vice Principal Judy Cambigue is thrilled Mrs. Bussey is joining the SVA team. “God proves over and over again that He provides the right people in the right moments,” she said. “We are sad to see Joy Leffers leave, but I know that Cara will be a wonderful fit for our Kindergarten program. I’ve been impressed by her and look forward to working with her this year.”
