SVA Names Interim Principal

SVA is pleased to introduce Spencer Hannah as our Interim Principal for the 2023-2024 school year.
Spencer Hannah received a B.A. in Mathematics with Secondary Education from Columbia Union College, in 1981 and went on to earn his master’s degree in educational administration from University of Northern Colorado in 1991. Spencer has taught as a high school math teacher with 42 years of teaching in Adventist education beginning with Campion Academy, CO; Fletcher Academy, NC; Blue Mountain Academy, PA; Shenandoah Valley Academy, VA; Greater Miami Adventist Academy, FL; Tri-City Adventist School, WA and College View Academy, NE. Many of those years have been in administration which provided him with a unique understanding of relationships, roles, and responsibilities of both the teacher and the administrator. Spencer is able to utilize a variety of techniques to enhance instruction and help students understand and master the concepts and skills.
Spencer and his wife, Eva, have been married for 45 years and have two grown children. They enjoy hiking, playing board games and traveling. Spencer was raised in northern Ohio and attended Mount Vernon Academy where he discovered his love of math. Eva also has family ties in Ohio; her late mother was a member of the Centerville SDA Church for many years until she moved to Lincoln, NE to be with family. Spencer and Eva agree “We are both excited to join the team at SVA and return to our roots in Ohio!”
