Student safety and well-being is of utmost importance to Spring Valley Academy; not only physical safety, but emotional and spiritual safety as well.

We want each and every student at SVA to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are a beloved child of God, and as such they can put their trust in Jesus, and cast ALL their cares on Him. It is in this assurance that we find true peace and security.

However, we do live in a sinful world and with that comes concerns regarding safety and security. The pages below outline the current steps taken in consultation with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and our two School Resource Officers.

Enhancing Campus Safety with Raptor Alert

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority at Spring Valley Academy. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe learning environment, our faculty and staff recently completed training on the Raptor Alert emergency response system, an important new layer of security for our campus.

Every staff member has been issued a wearable Raptor Alert badge that allows them to quickly initiate an emergency alert if assistance is needed. When activated, the system immediately notifies faculty and staff throughout the building, providing the location of the emergency so that everyone can respond appropriately and efficiently.

In the event of an intruder or other critical emergency, the Raptor Alert system also instantly notifies local law enforcement. Responding officers receive information about where the alert originated within the building, allowing them to respond more quickly and with greater situational awareness.

By combining rapid communication, precise location information, and immediate coordination with emergency responders, this technology strengthens our existing safety procedures and helps ensure that help arrives as quickly as possible when every second matters.

While we hope this system is never needed, we believe that preparation is one of the best ways to protect our school community. The addition of Raptor Alert reflects our continued commitment to providing a safe, secure, and caring environment where students can focus on learning and growing.

We appreciate the trust our families place in us each day and remain committed to continually evaluating and enhancing the safety measures that protect our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
