Training and Preparation
In order to be as well-prepared as we can be, Spring Valley Academy does the following:
- Spring Valley Academy conducts fire, tornado, and safety drills throughout the school year.
- Spring Valley Academy executes four ALICE Drills every year (one per quarter). ALICE helps staff and students remember the steps taken during a potential on-campus event, and is indicated by a separate alarm and flashing light throughout the building. ALICE stands for:
- A – Alert
- L – Lockdown
- I – Inform
- C – Counter
- E – Evacuate
- All full-time staff members are CPR/AED and First-aid certified.

- All staff members and volunteers undergo full background checks.
- Spring Valley Academy maintains an Emergency Operations Plan on file with the state of Ohio Department of Education.
- We work closely with and receive training from Montgomery County School Resource Officers.

- The Spring Valley Academy Safety Committee meets regularly throughout the year to review threats, procedures, and protocols.
